    The Program

    The mornings are dedicated to the individual instruments, guitars will work with Dario, violinists with Eva, bassists with Manu.

    The focus will be the fundamentals, both specific to the instrument as well general to music and specific to jazz and gypsy jazz. Right hand, left hand technique, improvisation, phrasing, repertoire building, ear training, will all be the priority. Each instructor will tailor the exact activity based on the relative level of the students.

    At the end of the morning session, students will be grouped into bands and a small repertoire will be decided with the instructors (2-4 tunes depending on the level of the group) and the afternoon will focus on set preparing, arrangements and focus on each students individual challenges relative to one or more aspects of the tunes.
    The evenings will begin with the organized set in which all the bands will perform their set to get accustomed to playing under the relative pressure of a small audience, after which spontaneous jam sessions occur freely.
    The following day all is repeated, again fundamentals in the morning, rehearsals and performance in the afternoon, but students are shuffled around into new formations as well as new repertoires.
    • The farmhouse is Agriturismo Borgo Solario (https://www.borgosolario.com/) and accomodation will be organized based on the number of participants. Participants that book as a couple will have their own individual rooms and participants that come alone might share apartments depending on the total number of participants, of course having their own individual space within them.
    • Package can include (but doesn’t have to) Accomodation, Dinner on the 8th, Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner through the rest of the Camp.
      Check in is expected at or after 15:00 of Wednesday June 12th and Check out is Monday June 17th by noon

    • Package does not include travel, but if needed, we will pick you up at the close by station of Castiglione del Lago (which is connected by train from Firenze and Roma).
    • If you sign up and pay but cannot attend the camp, 50% of your tuition will be refunded if such cancelation occurs on or prior to March 1st. After such date no refunds will be made
